Township Eats is a Gauteng-based multi-vendor food marketplace connecting 48 vendors with thousands of customers. Their biggest pain: vendors couldn't track orders and customers chased receipts on WhatsApp.
Township Eats was growing fast — 48 vendors, thousands of orders — but their infrastructure wasn't keeping up. Vendors had no visibility into orders, customers were chasing receipts on WhatsApp, and the support team was drowning in repetitive queries.
The multi-vendor architecture. We engineered a marketplace where every vendor gets their own secure portal: live orders, inventory, payouts, and tax invoices. Customers get a unified shopping experience with a single checkout across vendors. The system routes payments to the right vendor instantly via PayShap.
The AI support layer. We trained a custom AI agent on the marketplace's order data, vendor catalogues, and support history. It handles 24/7 customer queries inside the client portal — order status, refund requests, vendor recommendations. Anything ambiguous escalates to a human. The AI resolved 70% of queries autonomously in the first month.
The unified dashboard. Marketplace admins get a bird's-eye view: orders per vendor, revenue split, support ticket volume, AI resolution rate. Vendors get their own dashboard scoped to their store. Everyone sees exactly what they need — nothing more, nothing less.
